Working Student Software Engineering (m/f/d)

You will work on a defined part of an AI specialist role that is in live operation with a client and not in a demo. This is not a side project that ends up in a folder after your semester. You will present your progress yourself in the weekly review.

What the role involves

  • Build a source connection or an evaluation in the dashboard on your own, agreed and signed off like any other task in the team.
  • Write test cases for existing roles and find regressions before they show up at the client.
  • Prepare data sets and merge them with the client's naming through a translation table.
  • Build small internal tools that take recurring manual work off the team.
  • Present your progress in the weekly review and explain your decisions.

What you bring

  • Ongoing studies in computer science, business informatics, data science or a related subject, from the third semester onwards.
  • Python at a level that goes beyond the practice exercise, along with confident use of Git.
  • A first contact with LLM applications, from your studies, from a project or out of curiosity.
  • Availability over at least two semesters, because otherwise the onboarding costs more than it returns.
  • Confident German, English for documentation and sources.

What we offer

  • A task with sign-off rather than a task for practice, and a fixed point of contact from the engineering team.
  • Early responsibility for your own part of a client project and direct feedback from the founders.
  • A team that works with AI specialist roles: what can be delegated is delegated. Your time goes into the tasks where you learn something.
  • Office in Hamburg's HafenCity, equipment of your choice, working hours to fit your timetable.
